Learning everything I could about Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia was a necessity when I first started to see the signs with my mom. So after living in Colorado fpr many years, since graduating from Michigan State University, I moved to southwest Florida eight years ago to care for my mom with Alzheimer’s then helped my dad in his final stages of cancer. Two of my mom’s sisters passed away one month after my mom, then a cousin, then my favorite uncle, who was a fire chief for over 35 years. I think of him every time I watch Chicago Fire on tv!
